About Us

Enhancing Mental Health

Shifa Behavioral Health Center (SBHC) is a community-focused organization dedicated to providing critical care and support to individuals with substance use disorders (SUDs) and co-occurring behavioral and mental health challenges. Our center serves people in Pierce and King Counties, with a particular focus on helping formerly incarcerated individuals and those from BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) communities.

At SBHC, we understand that recovery and reentry into society are complex journeys, especially for those facing mental health challenges. That’s why our mission is centered on delivering holistic care that addresses our participants' physical and emotional needs. We provide detoxification, mental health treatment, life coaching, skills development, and reentry services that empower individuals to rebuild their lives.

Our
Mission

Our mission at SBHC is to deliver comprehensive behavioral health and recovery services to formerly incarcerated BIPOC individuals, helping them lead healthier, more stable lives. We work to reduce recidivism, improve public health, and foster social justice through personalized care and compassionate support.

We envision a future where individuals impacted by incarceration and substance use have the tools and support they need to overcome barriers, achieve their potential, and live fulfilling lives. By addressing the root causes of behavioral and mental health issues, we aim to create healthier individuals, stronger families, and safer communities.
